Launch of the ‘Outdoor classroom’

At 2pm Monday 21st January 2008 the ‘Outdoor classroom’ and nature trail was launched in the park. Prompted by funding from Veolia Environmental Trust, a derelict area of the park has been transformed with additional funding from the local Ward Councillors and even a donated memorial picnic bench to provide seven picnic benches, six quality information boards (covering birds, trees, pond life, wildfowl and butterflies) tarmac paths to allow wheelchair and pushchair access and 40 bird boxes.
