Good Old Days – I Think Not!

Remember’ t good old days when’ t boats were on’t lake? Park looked great.

Mmm. Did it? Take a look at the pictures below. The first is of the main car park area next to the toilets. You will recognise the vehicle entrance through the metal railings. The second is of the area directly in front of the car park looking towards the lake. The building is the council depot – you can still see the telephone post in the background (still there now). The depot is exactly where the picnic area is now and the blue gates are where the new disabled pathway leads to the lake. Look at the state of the car park! The third picture shows exactly the same area today – picnic area, information boards and new footpaths. On the last picture you can still see the telephone post in the same position as on picture No 2. The position of this photo and the one immediately above is exactly the same.

Good old days – I don’t think so.
