Good Old Days lll – Boat House

The boats on the park certainly hold a place many peoples hearts. Why else would it still be called ‘The Boating Lake’ even when there are no boats on it?

The first picture here is in 1994. The boats have long gone and the Old Boat House can be seen boarded up and not in use. The second picture shows the same position now. This area is earmarked for future development by the Friends of Sandall Park. In the short term the area does require some tidying up. The drains and the tarmac in the footpath area to the rear of what was the boathouse have recently been renovated to prevent the unsightly flooding of recent years.
