Golf Course Clean up Started

We have had several inquiries asking about the Old Golf Course, especially about when it’s going to be finished.

Clearly there is a lot of work to do in this area. Some of the fence posts need replacing but this is linked to a funding bid FOSP have submitted for other work on the golf course, so this will have to wait until we see if our bid is successful.

The old copse of trees that were damaged by the wind will be cleared but for now the logs have been cut up ready for removal when the ground is harder. Yes we know some have already been removed by ‘helpers’.

We have today started a bit of a ‘tidy up’ along the line where the conifers were removed and you will see several piles of tree debris that we have left ready for removal. The council have been informed and hopefully these will be removed in the next few days – it actually looks better already. We have also started marking out the ‘red’ fitness trail on the golf course.

So there you have it. Spring’s here, loads to do and all we need is some more volunteers!

Well impressed I was too, lovely and clean and no graffiti that I good see, nice picnic area and quite a few folk about. Cafe was busy too, just need the toilets and it will be a right crowd puller now the sun’s coming out!
