Thorne Park Miniature Railway

One of the enduring memories of the old days in Sandall Park is the ’steam train’. EVERYONE seems to remember it – but the passage of time dulls the memories.

Most people refer to the train as the “Steam Train” – which it never was. And we have been told on many occasions that the train that was in Sandall Park is now in Thorne Memorial Park. Well we have news ……….. sorry but it wasn’t.

We have recently met organisers of the Thorne Memorial Park Miniature Railway while they were visiting Sandall Park – so we can that myth to bed. But those that have missed our own train for so long, I am sure, would love to visit Thorne Park and see their train in operation. It is fantastic and a great attraction for all visitors.
