Look Mom, I’m a Swan……..
This webmaster has been away on his jollies for a couple of weeks and it is amazing the difference that can be seen in the park over such a short time.
The first thing I noticed was the size of our prized assets – the cygnets. Amazing! The one with the fishing line in its mouth is fine (but still with the fishing line) an the one that troubled us all – the one with the dodgy leg (limpy) is also showing no sign of a problem and is walking (not limping) fine.
So, it’s three out of four doing well for the year to date.

Has anyone any idea how the hen will react to the youngsters next year as she has now lost her mate?….It was the cob who was driving the young away. Can we legaly find a replacement mate for her?
We are registered with the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) who are making a record of all the ducks in the park and have a special interest in the Black Swans. We have sent your query to them and await their reply with interest.
Previously they have been very good in responding to us regading the Black Swans.
