The Concrete Duck – Yes Really!

Another bit of nostalgia and the answer to a question. If you go to the area of the old train on the old golf course near to the houses at the back of the council depot, you will see a square of low hedging.

In the centre of the square you can see a bit of shaped concrete – if you have studied it more you will have noted that it is half a concrete duck. But what did it look like?

Well now we know. In the background of some of the old train pictures we have been sent can clearly be seen the concrete duck in its full glory. We can only guess that it had been damaged and repaired before because the head part certainly looks newer than the rest.
