CCTV?

Over the last two years, together with the authorities we have tackled crime and anti-social behaviour in the park. This has been pretty successful and projects such as the golf course project have seen anti social behaviour drop to almost nil.

Such behaviour now is restricted (as you would probably expect) to the area around the toilets, cafe, main car park and the lake side. We are seriously considering the possibility of installing CCTV in this area as we feel it would help reduce instances of crime and anti-social behaviour as well as protecting the wildlife.

Surveys in the park have shown that these issues are key for visitors to the park. We would welcome views on this proposed initiative. Please take time to vote on the subject and if possible leave us your views as a comment below.

We are considering putting CCTV in the park near to the cafe, car park and toilets.

There was an article recently in the Doncaster Star about a CCTV system that had been set up – and anti social behaviour was reduced even before the cameras were switched on. It can only be good for the park.

The vast majority of Park users are law abiding citizens. I don’t believe installation of CCTV would deter these people, quite the opposite. The only people not wanting this will be criminals themselves and those with concerns about civil liberties.

I think that having CCTV in the park is an excellent idea. It will deter the less desirables in the park. I bring my young grand children to the park and dont want them to be confronted by these people.
