Oiks!
It’s taken quite sometime to train people to actually put litter in bins (well some anyway – most do it as a matter of course). So what type of person opens the (not so) secure bins and then spreads the contents about?
Well that is exactly what happened to the litter bins near the ‘bus shelter’. You can see the mess in the photo.
Several people have Emailed us about this and yes we have informed the council to get the rubbish removed. One member described the person responsible as an ‘Oik’ – so I looked it up: From the Oxford English Dictionary: oick, oik (OIk). slang. Depreciatory schoolboy word for a member of another school; an unpopular or disliked fellow-pupil. Also gen., an obnoxious or unpleasant person; in weakened senses, a ‘nit-wit’, a ‘clot’. Hence ‘oikish a., unpleasant, crude; ‘oickman.
And you know what - we agree!

Once again it was great fun taking my young grandchildren to the park this Easter Sunday morning. They had a great couple of hours on the slides etc and looking at the wildlife. It was also heartwarming to see the park being used by various generations at the same time. This is what open spaces and parks are for- to enable the young and not so young to enjoy the simple pleasures of life in a safe and pleasant environment.
The Oiks strike again today. Shopping trolley full of rubbish dumped in the lake. Really makes your blood boil!
