Angling in the park may have been suspended but it has not stopped the responsible anglers from still looking after the lake.
The following articles were this afternoon removed from the lake by them:
6 pike lures – very dangerous to birds
4 fishing rods
5 lead weights
1 infamous red and white brolly
Countless bits of line with hooks on.
Brilliant guys thanks for your help – clearly no hard feelings then.
A HUGE thanks to Neil K who put in all the graft and got his canoe out. This is obviously going to prevent furthur incidents on the lake causing harm to the birds. Especially good as it is the day the 2 cygnets hatched.
Another point worth mentioning is artificial lure fishing is one of the methods we plan to ban from the lake.
