Friends Receive Queens Award
It has been announced today that the Friends of Sandall Park will receive the Queen’s Award For Voluntary Service (the MBE for volunteer groups).
This prestigious UK National Honour recognises outstanding voluntary contributions and sets the national benchmark for excellence in volunteering, with the work of those awarded being judged to be of the highest standard.
Are we pleased? Dead right we are!
The actual award will be made at a later date by the Lord Lieutenant for South Yorkshire and several of the group have been invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace in July.
Seriously, we are really, really pleased with this award especially as it resulted from nominations from visitors to the park.
