Fish Improving

During the hot weather quite a lot of fish have died in the main lake the cause being unknown.

We hope that with the fountain now working and the recent rain things may improve – and certainly in the short term this appears to be the case.

There have been other instances around the country of large numbers of fish dying. Calendar on ITV featured just such a story. Click here to see the TV article.

Our thanks to the Anglers of Sandall Park for their vigilance.

i walked around the lake this morning and the 2 fisher men who left all there rubbish after them last night , corn cans, meat cans, nite lights, yogurt cartons and mcdonalds bags, shame on you it only took me 5 mins to pick it all up as you were sat in front of waste bins, and what a shame to see one of the lakes beautiful big carp floating on the surface, i am a fisherman and leave my peg as clean or cleaner when i leave so come on be fair to every one,

Cannot agree more Barry unfortunately it’s a case of the select few that spoil it for the rest. Was this Friday the 1st of june? Where abouts was the rubbish as it may help me pinpoint the culprits. Regarding the dead carp unfortunately we lost 3 in total due to low oxygen levels over the hot period while the fountain was out of action.

Thankyou very much for clearing up the rubbish so that other park visitors didnt have to put up with it.
