59 Weeks…….!

59 weeks is the amount of time the Friends of Sandall Park spent working on the park in one year…..

During a recent funding application we were asked how much volunteer time was spent in the park and we made a conservative calculation (on a spread sheet and per-person on the group) on the amount of volunteer hours that went on:
>Funding applications;
>Project management;
>Planning and organising events;
>Litter picks;
>Maintaining web site and Facebook;
>Repairing vandalism
>Painting and maintenance in the park;
>Preparing content and updating noticeboards;

and much much more…………….. and it came to an  incredible 59 working weeks in just one year. No annual leave – no sick leave – and no lunch or smoke breaks!

That’s value for money!
