At tonights FoSP meeting the winners of the 100 Club draw for October were as follows:
A. Barclay (£30) B. Crabtree (£15); S. Stokes
Well done to all the winners and thanks for your Support.
Anyone wishing to join the 100 Club can join by contacting us and we will fit you in. It’s just £1 per month and all the money raised will go into improving Sandall Park.
BIG news – HUGE! We are delighted to announce that for the third year in a row this years Dash will be fully funded. EVERY penny of your entry fee will go to your charity.
Now that is impressive! Huge thanks to our sponsors – yet again.
It is important that entries are made early as we have previously sold out prior to the Dash day – especially now each charity will raise even more money.
Visit the Doncaster Santa Dash website for more information and to enter.
The Sandall Park Angling Club today completed an unplanned cleanup of the lake.
What started as a quick fish rescue escalated into a huge lake clearance.
Brilliant work everyone – especially Mark – who we think never takes his waders off!
Did anyone watch last weeks Countryfile? The article about Quince trees?
Well we’ve got one in the park and this year there is more fruit than ever before. It is round near the back of the old nursery on the corner where the parkrun route goes. Near the rows of small trees.
Apparently its well known for making jam – but we knew that already because two years ago a FoSP member made loads from the tree.
So now you know……..Feel free to collect some fruit for jam!
Our volunteers get the recognition they deserve for their hard work in the park. Community Group winner 2015 (Gold Award) for the fourth time, and Silver Gilt for the Sustainable Garden Category at tonight’s Doncaster in Bloom Award Night. Well done everyone.
Busy day in the park for many FoSP volunteers.
Bird feeders replaced, rockery swept and sorted, toilets cleaned and re-stocked, all the newish trees in the park checked re their strappings ready for the winter, plants planted, low branches cut back, benches with names scratched on repaired and re-painted plus quite a bit more actually.
Park looked great in the sun too!
