We now have a phone based Tree Trail in the park.
Just download the TiCL app for your phone (Apple or Android). Just go to the park, start the app and you’ll see a list of trees in the park, the names, a picture and directions on how to find each tree. There is even a web link for each tree so you can get even more information.
When you start the app it will list the trees in distance order – so the nearest tree will be at the top of the list……. should be fun for the family! We’ll be adding more trees too.

The sun shone, the people came, the bands played, everyone had a great time……… then it rained. Phew – just made it!
A Fantastic performance by the Doncaster Senior Brass Group, EKS Big Band form Herten and the Doncaster Concert Band. A Huge thankyou to the bands and everyone who supported the event.
The organisers of the Summerfest Doncaster in Sandall Park planned for Saturday August 6th 2016 have made the following announcement:
“It is with great regret the organisers announce cancellation of this event and wish to thank bands, audience, suppliers and other patrons for their efforts and support. The decision has been made purely on commercial grounds as a live event of this nature is a significant commitment.
The organisers also note their disappointment to see the announcement of two other festivals in the Doncaster area on the same day despite Summerfest being announced in October 2015. Doncaster has a vibrant music scene but can ill afford that pressure on audiences. The loss to the market unfortunately is to be able to present multi album selling artists.
With respect to refunds tickets purchased direct from the organisers will automatically be recredited within 14 working days and all queries may be directed to Luke Stevens on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We wish the live original music and the great people of Doncaster well and apologise again for any disappointment and the loss to the 3 charities the event was intent on supporting.”
This is a huge disappointment for the Friends of Sandall Park as we are continually trying to attract new entertainment to the park.
This could be fun for you and your family. We’ve created a virtual trail around the park using old photo’s from a bygone era!
All you have to do is download the TiCL App to your phone (both Apple and Android work fine). Then go to the park and open the App. You will see the “Old Sandall Park Trail” will be top of the list. Open it and you’ll see a list of old photo’s with a brief description – just click [DIRECT ME] and an arrow will direct you to the location of the photo – simples! You can even add your own comments and memories.
Great fun and it’s FREE! We’re just testing the concept on the old park trail but have plans to create a Tree Trail, Geo Caching, Treasure Hunts and much more. Try it and let us know what you think.
NOTE: Magnetic catches on your phone cover can/will affect the direction arrow – so it would be wise to take your phone out of its magnetic case to avoid problems.
All technical enquiries direct to TiCL please.
Has anyone noticed the dumping of HUGE amounts of bread in the lake? It’s a bit beyond just feeding ducks TBH and is threatening the health of the lake as well as being likely to attract rats again.
We have recently seen a sea of bread floating on the lake – and it’s not the first time.
The dumping of this amount of waste bread is litter dumping. Not good for the lake, the park or the wildlife. Any information would be appreciated – just Email us in confidence please.
Many of you will remember the EKS Band from Herten in Germany at our concerts in previous years. We are delighted that they will now be performing at the Music in the Park concert on the 26th June.
To accommodate this the event will now start at 1.30pm. There will also be free parking on the old golf course – with entry via the entrance on Barnby Dun Road (near the old council depot).
