Last Tuesday we played host to the Edenthorpe Gardening Club for a tour of the park.
It seemed to go well and we had a great time showing off the park to gardening club members who were genuinely interested in the park.
Our thanks to them for their very generous donation.
The next Friends of Sandall Park meeting is next Wednesday (20th) evening – 7pm at Sandalwood Communal Hall.
If you want to know what has been happening in the part and what the plans are for the future it is a good place to be…….
Earlier in the year we had some planters donated by the council which have now been planted up and tended to by our volunteers….. we reckon they look pretty good!
Very well done to our head volunteer gardener Wendy…..
Exactly 150 runners completed Saturdays parkrun…… well done to them all and especially the magnificent volunteers who keep making it happen – week after after week after week.
Yet another event is coming to Sandall Park – a Boot Camp!
Starts 5.30pm Tuesday 26th July (Meet at the cafe)
Vigilance needed please. An empty box that had contained a crossbow was today found in the park. Needless to say this is not normal, worrying and of serious concern – especially regarding wildlife in the park.
We ask that everyone please be vigilant and report anything suspicious a) via 101 or b) to us in confidence via a PM (facebook) or by Email (and we will make sure the appropriate action is taken). Dial 999 if appropriate.
Nationally we hear of regular incidents where swans, geese and ducks have been shot with crossbows. Let’s be proactive and make sure this doesn’t happen in our park.
Please share, be aware and take appropriate action when safe to do so.
