2018 will see a big increase in events in the park (with many new events altogether). Our aim has always been to make the park that nice, that people want to come and organise events in the park The FoSP are only a small group and cannot possible organise all the events that people want.
Please support all the ark events to ensure they come back again next year.

Police patrols continue in the park to rid it of the minority of anti social element who don’t respect the facilities that are put there for their benefit. Some offenders have already been spoken to and others can expect a knock on their door. Thank you SYP and DMBC
Heirtage lottery Funding has been the mainstay of serious park development for years but it i coming to an end…..
There is always something happening in Sandall Park and this year has been particularly busy. In addition to the new events of Eid in the Park, Party in the Park and Great Get Together hosted by other groups, the Friends of Sandall Park introduced the Scarecrow Festival to add to the fun days of Hook a Duck, Easter Egg Hunt and Doncaster Santa Dash
There have been litter picks by local businesses to compliment the daily litter picks by our volunteers, lots of maintenance and planting, garden tending and toilet cleaning by volunteers. Many things going on in the background that perhaps aren’t noticeable to our visitors – but it’s all happening to make the park nice. Of course, the park users are doing their bit too – litter picking, challenging people who don’t pick up after their dogs and generally taking an interest in ensuring the park’s success.
There have been new installations: fountain; nest swing for Inclusive Play; the large Wooden Adventure Play equipment on the old golf course; memorial benches and reed beds for the lake.
Through the hard work of the council, the FoSP and you, the public, the Park has been awarded the Prestigious Green Flag Award. This is evidence of how the park has progressed and developed into the family friendly place it is to spend leisure time.
So, while you’re enjoying your Christmas break (if you get one of course) spend some time in the park and get some fresh air and exercise. You’ve earnt it!
On that note I wish you all a Peaceful and Happy Christmas and a Healthy and Happy 2018.
Chairman Friends of Sandall Park
The lake has frozen over for the fist time his year and already youngsters have been seen on it ‘testing the strength.
Every year we have incidents where a dog falls through the ice – followed by the owner!. We ask that everyone acts responsibly around the frozen lake and they keep children away and dogs on leads.
After lots of weather prayers the sun didn’t quite shine on us but then again we didn’t get a white out as forecast.
well over 400 Santa’s took part in this years Dash and raised £000’s for local charities. Well done Doncaster – see you next year!
