Hosted by the Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery the meeting was followed by a tour of Hyde Park Cemetery.
The guest speaker was Katherine Boardman from the Heritage Lottery Fund whi brought us all up to speed on funding issues from HLF. Our thanks to Katherine.
The rescheduled Friends of Sandall Park meeting is………. tonight!
Usual time and place – 7pm at Sandalwood Communal Hall, Sandalwood Close, Wheatley (opposite the main entrance to the old golf course on Thorne Road)
Loads of things to discuss and loads of planning to do for events and projects throughout the year. Spring usually means there is lots to do in the park.
FoSP members today attended the Civic Building at the invitation of the council in support of the LGC Awards that they are in the running for.
A great day being amongst other enthusiastic people trying to do the best for Doncaster.
A big thankyou to the council for the invite – from our point of view – well worth the effort and we wish DMBC all the best with the award.
If you are interested in looking after a green space in your area – not just Sandall Park – feel free to join a green space network we’ve set up across Doncaster.
Next gathering on the 26th. Full details on the Doncaster GreenSpace Network website.
Just remind us that it is the middle of February…….
The park car parks have been full for most of the day and the park has been incredibly busy and yes it’s February. If this is a sign of what is to come this year 2015 is going to be a big year for Sandall Park.
It is a shame that the toilets could not be opened but I’m afraid that’s park life – they will be opend for the summer months starting 1st April.
A reminder that the date of the next FoSP meeting is Wednesday 25th February instead of the third Wednesday in the month.
The meeting will take pace at the usual venue – Sandalwood Communal Hall, Sandalwood Close, Wheatley and will start at 7pm
This is due to circumstances beyond our control. Sorry for any inconvenience.
