The Sandall Park Angling Club (SPAC) yesterday spent three hours clearing litter from the North Bank of the lake.
A great piece of work from Team SPAC as that area is very difficult for our own volunteers to get to. Can we say big thankyou from FoSP and well done.
The Sandall Park Angling Club now have a new Facebook page.
The members have voted in a new committee with new Chairman and officers.
You can visit their page by clicking the Facebook icon. We wish them well with their new club format. You can support them by liking their page.
Volunteers spent a full day in the park today planting trees supplied by the new angling club.
The donation came just at the right time to be planted along the new fence-line on Barnby Dun Road – where the hedge was removed last year.
18 trees in all made up of Beech, Maple and Holly – and pretty hard work it was too… but it’s all sorted now.
The current lease for angling in Sandall Park ends on 31st March 2015.
There will be a tender process (all on-line) for the next lease that must be submitted by 28th February to commence on 1st April. Full details will be made available by the council shortly. The current lease is not extendable – new applications must be made.
The lake fountain has been causing a few problems lately – usuallywhen plastic bags get caught in the filter.
Fixing the fountain is not an easy task because it has to be pulled out and cleaned – certainly not a January job! we are therefore greatful to anglers, Scott, Lee and Dwain for there efforts this morning in not only cleaning the fountain but re-siting it where it is more beneficial to both anglers and the wildlife.
Thanks guys – great job in testing weather conditions.
