The current lease for angling in Sandall Park ends on 31st March 2015.
There will be a tender process (all on-line) for the next lease that must be submitted by 28th February to commence on 1st April. Full details will be made available by the council shortly. The current lease is not extendable – new applications must be made.
New paths have been installed at the new entrances to the park on Barnby Dun Road.
Our thanks to the council grounds tea for sorting this for us.
The plan is for thousands of daffodils to be planted along the fence-line along with some substantial trees. It should look great when it all comes together but sadly it’s all come a bit late in the day for a spring display this year.
The lake fountain has been causing a few problems lately – usuallywhen plastic bags get caught in the filter.
Fixing the fountain is not an easy task because it has to be pulled out and cleaned – certainly not a January job! we are therefore greatful to anglers, Scott, Lee and Dwain for there efforts this morning in not only cleaning the fountain but re-siting it where it is more beneficial to both anglers and the wildlife.
Thanks guys – great job in testing weather conditions.
Litter pick this morning (Monday 5th January) to clear the rubbish thrown up by the installation of the new fence on Barnby Dun Road.
Meet 11.00 – 11.15 in the lay by next to the old golf course. We’ll provide the equipment – if FoSP members could bring the equipment they have their possession that would be helpful.
See you there……..
From all at the Friends of Sandall Park can we wish you a great 2015 and many fantastic visits to Sandall Park.
