Planning is still going ahead for the planned Soapbox Derby.
Insurance and risk assessments have been sorted…. but need to decide a format for the event. What we really need is a trolley that we can use for some test runs – so if anyone out there has a trolley already to go please get in contact and you can help us devise a route and carry out some test runs.
We reckon the hardest thing for the event will be to find some pram wheels!
That was a great event …..even by FoSP standards! Great weather – great people.
A new location in the park for this years event and we think it worked well – in fact very well according to the people we talked to.
A huge thankyou to the Doncaster Concert Band and the Senior Brass Group for coming to our park. But special thanks to everyone who supported the event….. without you it would never happen.
The event raised £500 for the Doncaster Concert Band – a Doncaster institution that has brought enjoyment to thousands of people.
At tonights FoSP meeting the winners of the 100 Club draw for June were as follows:
J. Oxley (£30) B. Senior (£15); M. Frost (£5)
Well done to all the winners and thanks for your Support.
They only come into the park once a year but support us lots!
So a huge thankyou to Fake Festivals for a substantial donation for flowers in our boat garden….. the least we could do is name the boat after them!
The planning next weeks Proms in the Park is coming along nicely and even the weather at this early stage looks good.
We could do with a large new cuddly toy for our raffle though – we have other things but a cuddly toy always goes down well.
All proceeds on the day will go to the Doncaster Concert Band and the Doncaster Senior Brass Group.
The event starts at 2.30pm Sunday 21st June down by the lakeside.
We are delighted to be able to announce that the BIG Lunch on Sunday raised a total in excess of £2,000 for Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice.
A brilliant event organised by Halifax staff and led by Danielle. Congratulations to everyone and for choosing our park yet again.
This is an event the Friends of Sandall Park are proud to assist and be associated with.
Well done indeed.
