Yesterday saw a busy day for volunteers in the park with half a dozen completing a whole range of jobs including litter picking, storing bird food, handing out bird food, painting the boat, gardening and sorting the willow tunnel.
Our thanks to everyone who took part. This will be a regular Monday feature in the park – join us 10am in the main car park.
If you spot a blur of a high viz jacket – that’ll be us!
Here are some interesting stats from the Spring Clean weekend – well done to everyone who took part…… and got wet – you are in these stats somewhere!
FoSP volunteers had yet another great day in the park this morning.
They washed down all the picnic benches, all notice boards were repaired and updated, fallen branches were removed from wooded area, all rusty sensory trail signs painted, litter picked sensory trail and play area, tidied the park storage container, handed bird seed out, unblocked gents toilet…….. which was actually blocked by a full dog poo bag!
Pretty satisfying morning actually……… except for the unblocking the toilet bit!
Staff from Costa Coffee joined FoSP volunteers today to clean up the park as part of the Great British Spring Clean…….. on a VERY wet volunteering day!
Our thanks to everyone who turned up and helped.
3rd to 5th March will see a Keep Britain Tidy campaign to spring clean the country.
On the 3rd of March we will have staff from the Department of Work and pensions joining us to clean up a specific area of the park.
And 10am Sunday 5th March will see our volunteers joining forces with staff from Costa Coffee to give the whole park a nice spring clean.
If you fancy joining us please feel free to do so. 10am on both days in the main car park. Just wear heavy shoes/boots and wrap up warm.
