A bit colder for 2013 but still an incredible day. Superb bands throughout and a fantastic turnout yet again in Sandall Park. Well done everyone - this is what public spaces are meant for...........

The day was bright but certainly breezy and oh soooo cold! Which made the brilliant turnout even more impressive. A change in format of the egg hunt tested the brains of everyone - and the parents thought the day was for kids! A massive thankyou to EVERYONE who supported the event, our event sponsors Ready Steady Store and Council Safer Neighbourhood Team - and of course our volunteers.

The Sensory Trail was completed in December 2012 and includes much, much more than just a signed trail. The log carvings are exceptional and a real attraction for children and adults alike in a magnificent woodland setting.

9th December saw Doncaster's 4th Santa Dash go ahead with a bigger than ever gathering of Santa's and reindeers. A magnificent turnout on a windy but clear morning to raise funds for a host of deserving charities. Well done to everyone and we look forward to the next Dash in 2013.

Two events in the same day. All the eggs in one basket....... and it was great weather - phew! The Doncaster Concert Band and friends played their hearts out to an audience of around 700. Well done to the band and a massive thankyou to all who supported the event.

Fantastic September weather for a fantastic event. Almost 200 runners took part in this annual 5km fun run raising funds for the local charity the Aurora Centre. Trophies and medals were presented again this year by Carolyn Hodgson.

At last after three years of bad weather the Proms in the Park 2012 finally went ahead. With a poor forecast all week initial numbers were low - until the sun came out and then people arrived in droves - with some still turning up very near the end of the performance. Another fantastic performance from the Doncaster Concert Band. Another free concert where the Friends of Sandall Park made a healthy profit! Our thanks to EVERYONE for their very kind donations.

2012 saw another fantastic event from Fake Festivals. For once the weather was cooler but it did not stop another great turn out in Sandall Park.

The launch of the Adventure Playground - funded by The Veolia Environmental Trust took place on the day of the Hook a Duck Championships and Easter Egg Hunt. The actual launch was carried out by a member of the Trust and the Civic Mayor of Doncaster. Our thanks to everyone who has supported the project especially Veolia who are becoming great friends of Sandall Park.

Snow in the park is always an exciting time and February 2012 was no different. Families had a great time and the park looked its natural fantastic self. Nature has a way of adding something to the park that the council or the Friends of sandall Park can never provide.

A survey has shown that one of the biggest reasons that people visit the park is to feed the ducks. There are huge range of ducks and birds and the information boards identify most of them. The Black Swans are the star of the show for us as they are permanently resident and they lend their own image to the FOSP logo.

The summer always brings out the best in the park. Looking at these pictures it is no surprise that Sandall Park is the most visited leisure park in Doncaster.

Nostalgia seems to be a common theme in the park. Everyone remembers the 'boating lake' and the steam train but unfortunately we have no photo's of the train. Since angling started again in September 2010 it has proved VERY popular and the 'Anglers' and 'Friends' of Sandall Park have forged a brilliant working team for the benefit of the park as a whole. We are therefore proud to show the world what great fishermen we have in the park in this Hall of Fame as nominated by the Anglers of Sandall Park themselves. Well done guys.
