The planning next weeks Proms in the Park is coming along nicely and even the weather at this early stage looks good.
We could do with a large new cuddly toy for our raffle though – we have other things but a cuddly toy always goes down well.
All proceeds on the day will go to the Doncaster Concert Band and the Doncaster Senior Brass Group.
The event starts at 2.30pm Sunday 21st June down by the lakeside.
Yesterday the Yorkshire Post attended the park and made a short film about the litter picking work of the group as part of their Yorkshire wide ‘Clean up Yorkshire’ campaign.
So the group put on their best BBC voices…. and you can see th result by CLICKING HERE.
We are delighted to be able to announce that the BIG Lunch on Sunday raised a total in excess of £2,000 for Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice.
A brilliant event organised by Halifax staff and led by Danielle. Congratulations to everyone and for choosing our park yet again.
This is an event the Friends of Sandall Park are proud to assist and be associated with.
Well done indeed.
Just four FoSP members turned out for this mornings litter pick – part of the Yorkshire Post campaign to clean up Yorkshire.
The litter was made up of the usual suspects with KFC litter edging out McDonalds at a ratio of about 3:1.
The strangest piece of litter recovered was a pregnancy testing kit!
A big thankyou to our own volunteers who yet again gave up their time to make the park a better place.
Following an incredibly busy weekend in the park this morning (Monday 8th) we have a Yorkshire Post inspired litter pick to give the park a spring clean.
Meet in the main car park at 10am. All welcome. If you’re serious about keeping the park clean and tidy you will be there – we will!
WOW! !61 completed yesterdays parkrun…… almost the record… but not quite. The record of runners is 165 – so near yet so far! We WILL get there…… and well done the the volunteers who make it happen EVERY week.
