Quince Jam Anyone?

Did anyone watch last weeks Countryfile? The article about Quince trees?

quince cutWell we’ve got one in the park and this year there is more fruit than ever before. It is round near the back of the old nursery on the corner where the parkrun route goes. Near the rows of small trees.

Apparently its well known for making jam – but we knew that already because two years ago a FoSP member made loads from the tree.

So now you know……..Feel free to collect some fruit for jam!

Busy day in the park for many FoSP volunteers.

TreesBird feeders replaced, rockery swept and sorted, toilets cleaned and re-stocked, all the newish trees in the park checked re their strappings ready for the winter, plants planted, low branches cut back, benches with names scratched on repaired and re-painted plus quite a bit more actually.

Park looked great in the sun too!
