Thank you everyone for your support, and there are just 6 numbers left if anyone else wants to join. It’s £1 per number per month – email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested. Thank you very much, as always – we can’t do it without you.
You will of course be aware that the Doncaster Santa Dash couldn’t go ahead this year (we suspect there may have been more than six people there).
BUT! don’t despair! Our very good friends and supporters Curly’s Athletes are doing a Virtual Santa Dash. Click here their page for all the details.
They are still looking for a sponsor if you feel you could help? All the proceeds from this year’s event will be coming to FoSP and subsequently the park – so if you can support it that would help us tremendously. As well as getting you out into the fresh air for some exercise!
HO HO HO and away you go! Helping us make the park better for you.
The memorial tree for Jackie Ciandella has now been planted, we’re just waiting on the plaque to go in.
The tree is gorgeous, paid for by the very generous donations of the people who loved Jackie.
Near to the wheelchair accessible fishing pegs, opposite the children’s adventure play area, it’s not likely to lack water at this time of year, and its roots will certainly find plenty of water there!
A massive thank you to everyone who donated, its a fitting tribute to Jackie and will be for many many years to come.

As of 5th November the outdoor gym on the old golf course will be closed.
It will be fenced off and notices put up. This is for everyone’s safety and well being, we know the virus can remain on hard surfaces for 72 hours. We’ll keep you updated as to the position.
An update on the park situation: So far all the play areas will remain open during lockdown – there has been no instruction to say they must close. The park is open for business as usual. (It might be worth taking hand sanitiser with you if you’re using play or fitness equipment?)
The cafe will close Wednesday afternoon for the duration of the lockdown. If business is slack it may close earlier than normal – and if it does, they will be closing the toilets earlier than normal.
So! As the cafe staff have been closing the toilets, it means this is now being taken over by StreetScene Dept of the council. They will be closing them around 3pm, as the cafe have been doing. If anything changes, we’ll let you know.
Enjoy the park for your daily exercise, fresh air and mental health wellbeing, that’s what it’s there for.
