If you buy on Amazon, log on to Amazon Smile (rather than just Amazon) and you are given the option to support a charity. Search on Friends of Sandall Park and our charity will pop up.

If you register us as your chosen charity every time you buy something on Amazon Smile a donation will be made to us. It doesn’t cost you anything.

It’s not a great amount from each purchase but it soon adds up – especially if all our supporters do it. CLICK HERE for the link.
If you use your phone to buy on Amazon, be sure to download the Smile app.
Thank you.

RIP Jean

It is with the deepest sadness that we have to inform you of the death of one of our dearest and most valued members of the group – Jean Ketley. Jean was taken ill last year and passed away at home on New Year’s Day this year.

She has certainly left a huge hole in the FoSP group. A stalwart , never shying away from hard work, always making the group smile and leaving special memories with each and every one of us.
Whatever was happening in the park, be it a litter pick; planting bulbs; a major event or simply a health walk – Jean was always there, even when she wasn’t well. She is probably best known for her job taking registrations for the annual Hook a Duck championships and also at the Santa Dash.

She always made us laugh at FoSP meetings with her anecdotes. Her repertoire at the FoSP Christmas party – singing along to Ron’s piano playing of the Christmas Carols is unrivalled, she was always game for a laugh.

She will truly be missed by all our group and to ensure her memory lives on in the park, we are organising a crowdfunding appeal to buy a native memorial tree. If you would like to contribute you can follow the link. Thank you very much on behalf of the group, and Ron and his family.
Our thoughts are with Ron and his family.

Jackie’s Tree on the Tree Trail

Jackie’s memorial tree has now been included on our @TiCLme Tree Trail.

The tree was purchased through donations from colleagues at House of Fraser, friends, neighbours and family. It’s a fitting tribute to a beautiful lady who loved the park and supported it and our group wholeheartedly.

Follow the trail, it’s free to log into. We’ve got several other trails to follow too. Take a look at the page on the website. CLICK HERE for that..
