Coming to Sandall Park on 15th August ‘The Great War On Tour’.
A heritage lottery funded project telling the stories of the Borough’s contribution to the First World War, both at home, on the front line and by soldiers from the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
With a travelling display that will promote the project’s research and offer a snapshot of the project’s exhibitions. It will also contain interactive elements such as replica World War One objects, replica uniforms, a photo booth and children’s craft activities.
Should be good – put it in your diary.

Todays Doncaster GreenSpace Network meeting was well attended by many groups interested in looking after Doncaster’s green space including Friends of Martinwells Lake, Friends of Hyde Park Cemetaery, Friends of Quarry Park and CVS.
Hosted by the Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery the meeting was followed by a tour of Hyde Park Cemetery.
The guest speaker was Katherine Boardman from the Heritage Lottery Fund whi brought us all up to speed on funding issues from HLF. Our thanks to Katherine.
The rescheduled Friends of Sandall Park meeting is………. tonight!
Usual time and place – 7pm at Sandalwood Communal Hall, Sandalwood Close, Wheatley (opposite the main entrance to the old golf course on Thorne Road)
Loads of things to discuss and loads of planning to do for events and projects throughout the year. Spring usually means there is lots to do in the park.
FoSP members today attended the Civic Building at the invitation of the council in support of the LGC Awards that they are in the running for.
A great day being amongst other enthusiastic people trying to do the best for Doncaster.
