The cafe – Yet Another Survey Needed

You may all be wondering what’s happening about the new cafe. And so are we.

Every time we enquire, we’re met with a response “It’s happening soon”. And every time, nothing happens.

Well something is happening now – the council want yet ANOTHER survey done to see if people agree with the cafe taking up some green space in the park.
In the next week or so, you may see volunteers with a clipboard asking your views on a new cafe for the park. We appreciate some of you may have completed this survey in 2020, but that’s not enough for the council. So, if you see someone asking your opinion – please participate. It will make our ‘job’ so much easier.
Thank you.

We will have a form that you can complete on our website – hopefully by tomorrow. That will make things a lot easier to manage for us. Or – you can message us with your name, house number, postcode (addresses WILL be visible on the council website when the forms are processed), what your preference is, any brief comments, and we will add you to a form.

Or just  fill this in: CLICK HERE

Lifesaving Rope in Cafe

Given the sad events elsewhere in the country over the last week. Now would be a timely reminder that a lifesaving rope is available in the park cafe if needed for an emergency on our lake.

Bad news on Changing Place

We are sorry to have to report that we received some terrible news yesterday.
We believed the Changing Place was sorted, and that it would be installed and open for use by January. We are now told that this is not the case and there are insufficient funds for it to be installed. Even with the Government grant and the funds that you, and we, have raised so far with our appeal it is not enough.
We are obviously devastated but rest assured – we will continue to work and fight to get this vital facility into our park for our visitors. It’s not over by any means.
