Covid Testing in The Park

The Mobile Covid Testing Unit will be in the park this Monday between 1.30pm. and 4.30pm
The service is free for anyone to attend however though they do not test children under the age of 11.
They are happy to see anyone that would like a test or needs advice regarding testing and Covid in general.
People attending should be asymptomatic. Anyone that has Covid symptoms should be self-isolating and booking a PCR test through the web or calling 119.
It’s a simple process and doesn’t take very long ( often less than 15 mins) and results are emailed directly to the individual.
Importantly the team can give advice on the need to keep testing twice a week and can help those who are doing home tests to make sure they are performing the tests correctly.
The team are great and will help people as much as they can. Why not pop along and get tested? https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/…/health…/covid19-testing

Toilets Closed for Christmas

The toilets in the park will be closed from Christmas Eve until the 2nd January.

During this period council staffing levels are reduced and there’s other things that need attending to for those that are working – like supporting those in need during the crisis for as an example.

Normal service will resume on Saturday 2nd.

Mindfulness In The park

Parks and green spaces have been the saving grace for a lot of people during the current crisis. Sandall Park has always provided the open space needed sometimes to literally ‘have some space’ and enjoy the fresh air.

Over the years we’ve encouraged fitness in the park with all our trails and fitness equipment, lately though we’ve directed our attention on trying to promote mental health – also aided by physical exercise. The creation of the Quiet Garden we hope has gone some way towards this, focusing on Mental Health Awareness.
We have taken this one stage further in the development of Mindfulness in the park. There is now a dedicated page for this under Facilities on this website. Look under facilities at the top of this page. We will follow this up in due course with a leaflet for those who don’t use the internet.
