The Santa Dash (this Saturday 7th December) is now fully booked, and also fully funded!! This means every penny of every entry will go towards your chosen charity.
For full details of the event CLICK HERE.
Volunteers are still needed to help on the day, so if you can, please turn up at 10am to be allocated a job. Every volunteer will be given a Santa Suit – unless you want to come in your own outfit? Get into the spirit of things, this is where Christmas starts. Ho Ho Ho
Entries are coming in thick and fast for the Doncaster Santa Dash (now taken over by Curly’s
Athletes https://curlysathletes.co.uk/ whose strapline is ATHLETES BEFORE PROFIT: Providing Inspiration and Support for all!).
As it’s their first year of running it they will be restricting numbers so once all the places have been sold – that will be it.
They have raised sufficient sponsorship for all the charities to receive ALL their entry fees, so the more entries a charity gets, the more cash raised – in addition to entrant’s sponsorship of course.
Please consider entering on behalf of FoSP so that we can plough even more money back into the park. We have spent rather a lot this year on various projects. Not that the other charities don’t deserve your support of course! Every one of them is worthy of contributions.
We have a smartphone that was found this morning near the park on Thorne Road. If you have lost one please contact us with some details and we’ll make sure you get it back ASAP.
We’re pretty sure it belongs to a runner/jogger who has dropped it.
*****NOTE: The owner of this phone has now been traced. Thakyou for everyones help.*********
We have had an information leaflet printed about the TiCLsticks Tree People trail.
You can donload th leaflet to print yourself by CLICKING HERE.
We currently have at least two wasps nests in the park that people should be aware of.
1.One is in the BUG hotel in the trees between the play area and Thorne Road near the main car park.
2. The second is in the woodwork of the Herb garden near where the parkrun finish line is.
Both have been marked with warning notices.
We are currently taking advice on what the council policy is for wasp nests in public places.
We are indebted to the 1st/36th St Peters Warmsworth Scouts, Cubs and Beavers for our fabulous TiCLsticks family. They are now happily living in the trees around the park and will be entertaining children and families who visit, and get them exercising at the same time.
The TiCL app is already up and running. They have all been given names of people linked to the scout/guide movement.
If you haven’t tried our TiCLsticks trail yet – you should. It’s free and it’s a great way to have a look around the park.
You can have a look at the tree trail on-line by CLICKING HERE.
You can download the free App and track the characters around the park by downloading the TiCL app from the App store or Google play.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a smartphone CLICK HERE to download and print a map of the rough location of each TiCLperson and let the kids search to their hearts content – a great way to spend the summer holidays.
