OK – The ‘Cricket Pitch’. The area that was ploughed up (formerly a cricket pitch) was as a result of a local cricket team asking the council if they could use the park as their home ground.
After a huge amount of preparation work by the council the team has given back word. Because of forthcoming events over the summer we are encouraging the council to make sure the area is restored so that it can be enjoyed by everyone.
We were contacted by another person wishing play cricket in the park last year but unfortunately I can’t find his contact details. If he would contact us again maybe we can resurrect the cricket project…..
A big welcome back to Jim Fletcher, his first parkrun since being tackled by a goose back in January.
It was a nasty injury and it’s great to see Jim back running again. Thought we had better check he wasn’t too nervous around the geese.
Another busy Sandall Park day in the morning – parkrun, cycling, fitness training and football….. for the middle of February that’s not bad at all.
If all else fails just visit the park to have a walk, feed the ducks, have a picnic or just do your own thing. The weather forecast is not too bad AND it’s Valentines day!
The usual Saturday activities are set for the morning with parkrunners, footballers, keep fit and cyclists!
The weather doesn’t look too bad either – a bit warmer and little wind. Good time for a PB in the parkrun.
Not a bad turnout this morning for the Sandall Park leg of the Doncaster Walking Festival.
Given the icy wind in fact it was a very good turnout so thanks to everyone for supporting the event and we hope you enjoyed finding out a little about the park.
The Sandall Park walk as part of the Doncaster Walking Festival is in the morning (Sunday) – 10.30 am start.
The weather forecast is cool but dry so wrap up warm and come a have a walk in the park….. and find out some things about the park and what we have planned for the future!
