That Went Well………

Our thanks to everyone who supported todays events in the park – and what a day it was. It turned out to be our biggest EVER fundraiser thanks to everyones kindness and generosity.

For the record more than 1,000 children completed the Easter egg hunt, 258 people took part in the Hook a Duck Championships and more than £500 was raised on the tombola. Every penny from today will be invested in the park.

Our thanks also go to some special volunteers who made today happen as they are not formal members of the Friends of Sandall Park – but wanted to help out….. brilliant.

The busiest ‘people’ today were Minnie and Mickey mouse. Regular supporters of ours…. so thanks Spotty Frogs. The Easter bonnet competition was tough call!

Finally we must point out the hard work and contribution of the council Neighbourhood Team – without them today would never have happened. Thankyou.

All in all – a cracking day. Bring on the next event……..

Adventure Play Coming Soon

Our Woodland Adventure Play is a step closer than it was 3 years ago! Which is how long its taken us to get to this stage.

We’ve only got funding for half of the plan so far (the low equipment on the right of the plan) but we hope to acquire further funding in the future to complete the picture. We hope it will be installed in the not too distant future.  You can see full details of the project CLICKING HERE.

Thankyou B & Q

Our thanks again to the CSR Committee at the B & Q Distribution Centre for their donation of bird seed for our ‘Don’t be a loafer’ Campaign.

Volunteers were in the park today handing out the free bags of seed to feed to the ducks and geese instead of loaves of bread. Chelsea was thrilled to bits with her bag of seed and squealed with delight every time she threw a handful. Thank you B & Q!
