Sometime in the next few weeks the lake will be dredged at what we call ‘Pongy Corner’ – where all the rubbish gets blown.
Please be aware that the footpath around that area will be cordoned off while the work takes place. Any queries should be directed to Doncaster Council.
And the wardens of the week prize goes to these two young chaps showing everyone how it’s done. Well done to them and their grand parents. If anyone else wants to have a family day sorting the park we can supply bags, litter picks and even children sized litter picks and childrens hi viz jackets!
Great night at the park with Armthorpe beavers scout group helping with a litter pick.
Two groups litter picked old golf course and north bank and far playground, kids brilliant really enthusiastic managed to get lots of litter.
We also gave everyone duck leaflets and duck food, they will get badges for community service to sew on to their tops and said they would love come back and work with us again. Great stuff and thnkyou to everyone.
It was a very wet ‘Magic Monday’ for eight volunteers in the park today – (that’s 50 hours of ‘work’ in one day). So called because all the litter from a busy weekend disappears as if by magic! And it’s National Volunteer Week too.
Great work team FoSP – even though it was pretty wet. Loads of TLC for the park and not just litter picking.
Yesterday saw a busy day for volunteers in the park with half a dozen completing a whole range of jobs including litter picking, storing bird food, handing out bird food, painting the boat, gardening and sorting the willow tunnel.
Our thanks to everyone who took part. This will be a regular Monday feature in the park – join us 10am in the main car park.
If you spot a blur of a high viz jacket – that’ll be us!
